what encoded this?

I have currently formatted my machine...and I had a kick butt encoder for encoding videos for my phone, I have since then tried to find this program to no avail.....I do however have a bunch of vids on my phone that were made with it. Is there any way to the file telling me what program was used to encode/create the file?

this is driving me insane, I had played with alot of encoders to find the one that worked just how I wanted it....but apparently didnt back it up. I seem to remember it had a bunch of presets for blackberrys and windows mobile phones.... gggrrrrrrr.....

any help? I can post one of these files if it would help, I know how all kinds of things are encoded in the file itself. I was hoping someone knew how to get to it.

Do you have any memory of what the gui looked like so you could try to describe it?

Mediainfo reports tool: lavf52.31.0. I don't recognize this offhand.

A google image search for "lavf encoder" brings up hits for AutoX264. lavf52 web search hits ffmpeg. Anything familiar?

Forgot to add: I use WinFF to encode for my phone. It has several mobile phone profiles. Seen it before?

well none of those really sound right. I just remember it had several profiles built in for blackberrys and such, but nothing specific for my blackjack, thats why I was playing with the encoding so much, I also noticed its encoding time were very fast, I have downloaded a dozen or so programs...and the only one that even looks similar is the Xlinksoft video converter....so Im wondering if I just had a older version.

Have you looked at HandBrake? It sounds similar to what you want, plus it works pretty well.

The names get better and better "Tipard BlackBerry Video Converter" just that you know you don't need that "Demo" @ all take a look @ handbrake, megui or mediacoder if you have some time @ hand
