So what? The question is : Will you see difference above 20Mbps? I don't think so!

yeah, i do! thats why i use ripbot, because its the simplest way to shrink data to fit on a 25gb bd-r

and if im not tooooooo confused, ive already seen bitrates on bluray which are over 90mbsp! (King Kong on bluray i guess)

Yeah! Right Bit-rate can not be higher than 50MBps in 4.1 profile

90MBps/8=11.25 MB/s
11.25 MB/s * 10800 s (3h movie) = 119 GB

its a question about thoughts: some say mp3 in 128k is nearly cd-quality, others say 192k....

so in generell, im right with my assumption that the bitrate shown in my ps3 is according to the bitrate i choose in the profile (4.0 or 4.1) - right?!?!?

this is my first try at using ripbot but it's not working on my system. i am using vista 64.

i uninstalled K-lite codec pack first, then installed ripbot. i kept all the default options during install. everything installs OK. when i click on the ripbot link on my desktop, an error pops up: [ Failed to get data for 'mjpg' ] then it loads ripbot. The Add link is available, so I click on that and the Encoding Settings window pops up. The only option I can select at this point is the [...] button for Video. So I choose a file, then across the bottom I see a notice "Please wait, demuxing audio" then "Please wait, gathering information". Once that message dissapears, nothing else happens. i can't choose any options in this window, it's frozen. The only button that works is the Abort button. i can close the window but that's it.

i've tried various video files, ripbot acts the same. tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, no change.

any idea what the problem is here??

im using vista 64bit business - and works well...

perhaps there are rests left in your registy which k-lite left back. try this http://download.chip.eu/en/TuneUp-Utilities-2008_30881.html

uninstall ripbot, run registry cleaner in the tuneup utilities, reboot, and reinstall ripbot - should work this way...

The problem is that you didn't download original file from my first post

50 megabits/s is the limit on peak bitrate, not the limit on average bitrate.

i know, atak just confirmed what i thought.

we were talkin about bitrates and which are usefull and which not. obviously its an "authors thing" which bitrates you use and which not.
at my point of view it offers a better result when you use level 4.1 instead of level 4.0 for bluray output because peaks will often tear the 20mbps-line... BUT, its an author-thing!

Yes that seems to be the case. I originally got it from videohelp.com. I am now using the files from the first post of this thread and it is working.

edit: forgot to say thanks for the tip.

CQ 18 and my 720P 100 FPS is about 18 MB, 1080p is over but who encodes 1080p at 100 FPS ? just me.

4.0 is great.

My goal was to create single most compatible profile! 4.0 profile works with all current media devices (tvix popcorn and similar) and blu-rays (DVD bluray and BD blurays). Divx guys thinks in the same way. Besides I am simple guy who likes simplicity so you won't see 20 almost similar profiles!

1080p at 100fps?!?!?!?!? What do you do exactly???!?!?!?

i think some guys dont realy know what they are talkin about....

ive already seen a lot of bluray movies which have bitrates far over 50mbps which offers level4.1 or how do you explain the existance of a level5.1.... and once again: these borders of 20,50 or 90 mbps are only peaks, not konstant bitrates!
