Watermark, hard-sub detection?

Playing around with ProPainter, which seems like a good Inpainting filter (works fine for static watermarks&co), I was wondering whether someone has some sort of watermark, hard-sub detection script?

The idea I had was to leverage such a script (fed with the input clip and rectangle coordinates) to build a mask clip, which then could be used together with ProPainter for inpainting.
I suspect Avisynth InpaintDelogo must have something like what I had in mind, but was wondering whether someone already constructed something for Vapoursynth that could help with this.
