On a new laptop I installed:

WMP v10.0.0.3646

went to the idiv. site @ m*soft to individualize my system.

No problems with UnDRMing....but since I am only interested in music this is fine for me!!! perfect.

that is the same type of error I was getting and it is being worked on.

Cheers

I thought I read somewhere that it was also possible to unDRM media-player-9 protected files.

But that is in fact impossible or what?

DRMv9 - Should be supported in next release. If you want to test on Wm9, please send a PM.

Garbage at the end of a file - this seems to be WMA files from a buggy generator. The file length in the header doesn't match the actual file size. Fix will definitely be in the next release.

I should have time to address the new IBX this weekend. Information on just what varies between multiple copies of the same version will be appreciated. Expected result: recognizable code will be at the same position, have same value. Encrypted code will be different bytes, same lengths.

Does FairUse4WM 1.1 work for WMP11?

I have just downloaded and installed WMP11, and acquired the licenses for some wmv files legally. But FairUse4WM 1.1 gives the following message when I try to unDRM some files: "xxxxxxx.wmv requires a different private key"

Does it mean my system has been patched? Any way to work around?

Thanks a lot!

This is expected behavior. A single IBX can have multiple embedded keys.
Go back to the first page, and Extract Keys using the newly downloaded file.
IF you get the -9000 error, wait for the next release, which should be sometime this weekend.

Keep your door locked. After the recent poblicity I guess it's just a question of time before someone send James Bond or Agent Bauer in your direction...

If they're taking requests, maybe Sydney Bristow?

However, given that I haven't gotten a single nastygram yet, I think I'm "OK" for now.

Look, take care !!

Do not let them catch you just like they did before as it happened with LUKE (DVD Decrypter's author).

I guess these thread can be use to discuss the bugs, some suggestions, development ideas, changelogs and similar ones.

But for releasing other things... No.... No more... At least, wait for a moment... See what happens in a few weeks...

You people must to think how to find a way to release the program without any link.

I guess we can discuss openly about DRM, but as your program become very famous in a great short time, its wise just to study the schemes and not release it here.

Collecting bugs reports, suggestions, logs, patching issues, experiences, etc. But, wait for releasing...

Your program is very nice and deserve to stay alive and effective for long time!!

So, we must think, all of us, the community, to find a way to deal with that DRM laws and possible Microsoft strikes and "protect"/"help" the developers just like you.

Take care and be prudent !!

Nice job for all of you, people !!

Troubleshooting tip:

Had a problem with a WMV file:

UNABLE TO DECRYPT: Unsupported Error correction (d6) at packet offset 0.

Wasn't sure what the problem was as the License acquired OK and the file played fine in WMP 10! So I tried downloading the file again with Flashget this time as I downloaded it using 'Save Target as' originally, and now the file is processed with no error.

Obviously the file got corrupted while downloading, so if you get the error above it may be due to a corrupt file, download again via a download manager and see if it helps!

Thank you! Ver1.2 is now working perfectly well with the newly downloaded WMP11.

Just wanted to say that this is a very imporessive program and I greatly appreciate teh work on it.

However, I've currently moved to Vista as the sole OS on my machine and I receive the following error after choosing a file for key recovery:

"Unhandled Situation -1 while creating Windows Media instance."

I can only assume is a Vista-specific bug, but any advice would be appreciated.

I get PATH/Michael Nyman - String Quartet No. 4 - Why.wma has an unexpected content key value.

When trying to decrypt. Key (supposedly) recovers properly. Tried multiple files, all give the exact same message.

DrmClien.dll v10.0.0.3802
Indiv002.key v11.0.5497.6285
FairUse4WM 1.2
