The last game I played on a PC was Command & Conquer (8 discs set) on Windows 98 never been into gaming at all.

I do a lot of VHS recording and encoding and I have been stuck on a Xeon x5470 for years but every time I have saved up the money for a new PC the wife used the money for home improvements. Though soon as she wanted a PC in the spare room it was ok for her to have mine and for me to finally purchase a much needed upgrade.

This is my YouTube channel, I had to start again because I wasn't happy with many of my conversions so deleted the old channel and started uploading them again.

Going from the Xeon to this is a 1000x improvement especially using Staxrip it's gone from converting a 2hr recording that took between 4-6hrs down to 6minutes on this.

Yeah, I'm not into gaming either...

Well, that's certainly a MAJOR upgrade, and a long time coming.

I do a lot of encoding / transcoding of movies & TV series, etc, and the more power you've got, the faster it all gets done.

There comes a time when we are all running out of time, so the faster we can do stuff, the better.

I rarely use Staxrip, my "go to" is Ripbot264 (but a modded build), have been using it for decades, in one form or another.

And as the saying goes, "Happy wife, happy life".

Cheers.

Once the file is unzipped by double clicking on the exe file, it will not open?
I have no idea why this happens, you might try running it on a virtual machine to see if the problem resides on the host computer.
