Good codec & video-player for my cellphone?
Hi.
I wonder, can anyone tell me of a good video-codec & video-player for my cellphone? My cellphone is an old Moto G4. It seems that it supports some hardware video-decoding, according to this website, Quote:
Weird though, that quote, isn't H.264 & AVC the same thing? But how do I now if it actually supports it in for example VLC-player? And which video-codec is more battery-friendly? Thanks. Last edited by Forteen88; 1st March 2023 at 18:49. |

For older android phones I would recommend mpv-android, vlc (maybe older versions) and old versions of mx player.
vlc likely does support hw-dec on your phone for at least h264. Other players can provide this info explicitly when playing back a file.
