YCbCR versus CCIR601
Several months ago, I started to develop an odd suspicion that my MPEG encodes were turning out a little bit darker than they should have been. However, I didn't bother to confirm until recently. I wish that I had done so earlier. A little bit of experimentation revealed that the darkening effect was being caused by checking the "output data as YCbCr instead of CCIR601" option.
So, this is a warning to all n00bs: do NOT use this option. My question to the more veteran users of the forum: why the hell does this option exist if it just ruins the output?
