23.21 has no range issue and "no" deint issue.
the masters is ever so slightly flicker. same for the kanji or Chinese. that's a huge win in my book.

please wait for more tests a sample size of one is way to low.

edit: broken in madVR.

@huhn What are you observing that you say madVR has an issue? It is fine for me with 92.17 and my older hardware/driver combination. Try using quicksync decoding with the adaptive HW deinterlacing checkbox that LAV has.

AMD deint does not work here at my end that's all.

i would never use quicksync i would never use software chroma scaling because it's bad and expensive compared to hardware/GPU.

i have no clue how intel performance these days i don't have any intel hardware i replaced all PCs in the past 2 years with ryzen CPU.

seems to be an issue with full screen mode, using MPC-HC, if I double click on the movie to come out of full screen mode 3D MVC triggers, but dies again when I go back into full screen mode, any ideas anyone? - windows 10 22h2

so after playing around with driver versions, MADVR versions, LAV filers etc etc nothing work but I played one video and accidentally triggered my on screen keyboard which came up over the top of the movie, bizarrely this fixes it, if I leave OSK on the screen and drag it down to the bottow so I can only see a small corner of it the movie plays fine, this is utterly bizarre, unless someone knows something I dont about 22H2 issues?

doesnt seem to be a driver issue so I'll not post on here anymore as 3d work with potplayer and non MADVR renderer.

I set up a Windows external drive on a mobile RDNA2 APU. Was pretty surprised when testing video to blacks washed out, but happy to report that MPC Video Renderer doesn't have this problem in Shader mode, even with D3D9.

Unforunately, the drivers from Valve are super busted in some aspects.. one is that they have no hardware acceleration at all for video decoding or encoding with Windows.

I have an issue with stuttering on 4K HDR MKVs with RTX 3080, Marantz SR-6011 and LG OLED65B8. 1080p SDR MKVs are fine. Latest madVR, LAV filters and Nvidia 531.79. Win 10 22H2. Zoom Player and MPC-BE.

Every half a minute or couple of minutes, the picture stumbles / stutters / jumps a few frames. Sound is fine. madVR display info doesn't show any frame drops. The issue is random and and always occurs at different time stamps.

With the same setup and a GTX 980, SDR and HDR were fine. Then I changed to a RTX 2070 Super. At first everything was fine. Then with around Nvidia 512.x and/or a Windows update, SDR and HDR were constantly stuttering. This was solved by:
- Vertical Sync to 'On' for the media player exe.
- In the madVR settings, uncheck 'enable automatic fullscreen exclusive mode
- In the madVR settings, how many video frames shall be presented in advance' to 1

Now with the RTX 3080, what else can I try to solve this stuttering with HDR MKVs?

Help me!

Hello.
After using madvVR on the pc with Jriver Media Player for years, in 2020 I bought the Envy Pro.
But I continued to use the PC as a media server: on the PC madVR performs the upscaling (->4k, chroma, luma, etc.), the hdr is set to pass trough (sending metadata to the display) and the Envy performs the calibration (with 3d lut) and tone mapping.
For years I have had Nvidia 2060 card with 442 driver in my PC and everything worked perfectly.
A few days ago I changed GPU (for 3050) and I had to update the driver.
Since then, when madVR broadcasts HDR signal it gets stuck and if I throw an SDR video, it doesn't show well.
Can someone help me? Is there a Nvidia driver with which this error does not occur?
In the PC I have the latest edition of madVR (166). Is there another remedy?
Thanks.

@Goeggel and @Furgiuele: Sounds to me that a new card was installed and a driver was installed. DDU the driver and install driver new. But don't forget to apply the needed settings in driver like VSync for player exe, ...

Some weird video playback issue with 532.03. Whenever I watch a video larger than my screen and downscaling, I would have massive frame drops. For example, watching 4k60 video using mpv via yt-dlp downscaled to 1080p would show Display FPS: 119.982 (specified) ###.### (estimated) , where ###.### would be lower than normal which would cause frame drops constantly. For MPC-HC (madvr), Ctrl-J would start out fine, then constant frame drops, then fine again, then frame drops. It would also happen when watching 4k 24fps/30fps video as well. If watching 1080p video, no frame drops and mpv would show estimated FPS matching my specified.

I just DDU'd and installed the last studio drivers 531.61 and the issue is gone. I was not patient enough to find out if 532.03 was the issue or if it happened earlier.

I really wish nVidia would do something about the Dolby dropouts. ATMOS tracks are a mess. It really sucks.

I had the same audio issue before when running it out from a DP to HDMI adapter to the AVR as well. Thankfully it's not happening terribly often.

I did a DDU and haven't had any audio issues since. Everything's peachy.

I may try it. The dropouts are annoying.
