Problems getting codecs to work in sony vegas
I recently tried to render a movie in sony vegas with h.264 using this guide
http://warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=106667 It suggest using K-Lite Codec and x264vfw Codec. I downloaded them for these two sites. http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/ http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...codec_pack.htm I got 64 bits windows and using 64 bits vegas. First off, codec would not show in the codec list in 64 bit version. I tried to install 32 bit codec and then use 32 sony vegas. But it took ages to make it work. http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/5485/tsadasda.jpg After giving up trying to find a working 64 bit version. I managed to get the x264 codec showing in 32 bits, but none of the sound codecs were working. Even tho i should get lameMP3. So I decided to try rendering with x264 without sound. Then this happend http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/6766/bugsdt.jpg I dont know if the codecs or my comp thats not working. But getting the x264 and lame mp3 working would mean a great deal for me Thanks already. And sorry if my post is confusing |

You never want to use x264 with VFW. It's just a plain old bad idea.
Also, you should never use a codec pack either. There are better and smaller alternatives that exist. use FFDShow-Tryouts instead. No excess crap lying around your system. Lastly, if you do want to encode your Vegas edits using x264, then you should export to a lossless avi, using something like Huffyuv or FFDShow's alternative, and then encode the resulting avi using a program such as MeGUI, Ripbot, etc etc. |
