Elgindy VTT to SRT Converter
Hi guys,
I just came across this subtitle converter, Elgindy VTT to SRT Converter, to convert web style vtt subtitles to Subrip srt style subtitles. There are no hits for "Elgindy" on the D9 so I thought that it might come in handy. https://www.softpedia.com/get/Multim...onverter.shtml It is the first/only converter that I found which was not an OnLine tool, ie dont need internet to do the convert. (Does not install, click to run, simple, does its work in an instant) Enjoy. EDIT: YouTube are now using VTT subs.

OK, I will try it.
Also, the file I tried did not convert well, it has subs that appear word by word with pauses between but on same line, so appear as and when spoken. Dont think that subrip subs would be capable of that. I guess that I chose a difficult 1st test. (Refused to mux in MeGUI) EDIT: Also display 2 lines of subs that scroll upwards when a line of space/time gapped words is complete. Kinda fancy subs. So above app is for pretty bog standard subs with nothing fancy. (Hope SubEdit performs better, but as I say, dont think Subrip subs would be able to comply with the time and space gaps) EDIT: VTT Code:

Actually, SubtitleEDIT does a pretty good job of removing the space and time gaps, displays all the gapped words on single line.
[EDIT: and the double line of subs scrolls too, Good job Nikse555] See edit on previous post. EDIT: Of course, the subs in question are real time AI generated subtitles. Doh !!!
