Dolby Digital AC3 2.0 for free!
Good news for all friends of home made films: Dolby Labs finally decided to give away free licenses of AC3 2.0 (two-channel format only) for personal use. They even offer a free encoder, which can directly read WAV and DV AVI type-1 and type-2.
The free license does not cover Dolby's multichannel formats, though (e.g. AC3 5.1). Get it at their web site: http://www.dolby.com/digital/ bb |
