For AviSynth, as well as all GPL'ed plugins, you need to supply links to the source code for them. You cannot distribute them without that and the GPL license.

But otherwise it's a good start for a GUI. It still needs a lot of finishing, like remembering settings (Having to select AviSynth 2.5 every time is quite annoying). It should also have much easier access to preview.

Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to the time it has matured!

Will do in the next version. I will include links for everything. It's the first time I am writing code on GPL. So far I was writing only for academic purposes.

Please authors of plug-ins don't get mad @ me.

SwiftAVS v1.08 (13/03/2003)

- Filters Sequence is now Implemented! Hehe, go nuts...
- In the Bitrate Calculator you can now load your Audio File and you'll get the filesize.
- Cropping is now much improved and MOD4 compliant.
- You can now unload previewed AVS file to free up memory.
- SwiftAVS copies D2VSource.ax in your system, but you still have to register it (through preferences).
- Again, looots of bugfixes.
- To add links to all the filters and Thank To the authors of them in next version.

SwiftAVS v1.10 (31/03/2003)

Basicly an updated release, not too many features out there, but hung on for a major release.
- Support for AviSynth v2.08 & v2.51. The 2.51 version is the modified one to be compatible with the latest version of VirualDubMod.
- No need to register D2VSource.ax anymore. No need to download it. Everything is being done automatically.
- In the bitrate calculator you can now leave space for miscellaneous files (subtitles, etc).
- Small bugfixes.

Get it @ www.swiftavs.net

Why don't you just PLEASE post an active link here so we do not have to go through this silly signup and logon process (that does not seem to work very well).

400 people managed to sign-up, it takes 2 minutes and it works properly. I spend hundreds of hours on this tool that MIGHT help some people and all I get is complaints.

Make your comments and it doesn't hurt to post a "thank you" every now and then.

I mean why is everyone so hostile to me here?

I don't really think anyone's being hostile toward you. It's just... many people HATE signing up for anything on the internet more than they hate getting a root canal...

Snollygoster,

Yes, don't take it to heart. It is something I learnt the hard way too. I put out my effort, AVSGenie some 6 or 7 months ago. Making the jump from a personal tool to a public one is a big step. People are quick to criticise, but seldom praise. Having said that the early criticism of my interface, whilst I couldn't understand it at the time, was very constructive.

My advice would be keep in mind that this is something you developed originally for yourself, don't spend too much time trying to second guess what others may want out of it (other than simplicity of operation), try to be objective about criticism (the point may be valid, even though initially you or I may not see it), don't expect praise, don't expect bug reports despite how many people download the program, and just try to take some satisfaction in the thought that someone somewhere may be actually using it and finding it helpful.

To be honest, I too am not a fan of the signup procedure, and many others have put in huge amounts of effort to the core program, plugins and advice and support in these forums without feeling the need to impose such a system.

SwiftAVS v1.15 + Source Code

This is the final release for SwiftAVS for the time being.

Some of the major bugs are fixed, some of the filters have been updated to their new versions and it is now fully compatible with AviSynth v2.52 and v2.08.

I am in my 4th year now at Uni and I have no time to program. This is why I release the Source Code as well. You are free to do whatever you want with it.

-=IN ANYWAY YOU CAN NOT SELL IT OR EARN MONEY FROM IT=-

IT IS REGISTERED UNDER GNU/GPL LICENSE.

I will also set up a forum @ www.swiftavs.net for those of you who will modify SwiftAVS, release new versions etc. Other users are also welcome to submit problems and ideas.

Thank you.

I definitely understand the pressures of 4th-year school Just so you know, if you don't want to allow sale/profit, the (unaltered) GPL is not the license you want.

A proprietary license is what you appear to want. You have to realize that the GPL keeps software free for the most part. Even if someone wants to sell it, they have to (by the license) provide the source for free. Companies that "sell" GPL software usually actually sell support for the product--in fact, that's how companies like Red Hat make their money.

It's also somewhat late to say that people can't make money from your work, unfortunately. The GPL is pretty specific. You can re-release the software under a different license, but that doesn't retroactively remove the previous GPL'd releases. Such is the nature (and some say danger) of the GPL.

Just found this thread using the search function. I was searching for the blockbuster-filter actually, but this is even more useful for me

My question is now, how can I get it? I visited the sourcefoge page, but I can't download it. I'm always redirected to the overview of files
