Bad video quality, please help

I'm using BtWinCap drivers ( http://btwincap.sourceforge.net ) with Bt878 chip based cards. I have tried 2 so far AverTV Stereo and Winfast TV2000 XP and basically if I capture certain video tapes (or even if I just view them without capturing) the picture is flickering and really bad I can't even describe it, this only happens with 2 tapes out of about 10. I thought that maybe the signal is not good on those tapes so I installed OEM drivers that came with the cards, the flickering went away, so it's something with the BtWinCap drivers.

I can use OEM drivers, but all of them are bad, and BtWinCap are the only ones that can capture full 720 x 480

It's in WMV 9 format, so make sure you have the latest WM 9 player

Any ideas ? Maybe buy a better VCR ?

recently there was a lot of discussion about
poor vhs capturing....see the thread on advc100,etc.
(or just look for my postings....must be that
i love vhs....hehe!)

no use for that on my system..(hehe)

if you're from cz or europe,then you're capturing on
wrong resolution....

and a quick hint;capturing in lo-res
is capturing only one field and therefore
much easier for the system but image is lousy...
on the other hand,capturing to full res
is capturing both,but sometimes 1 field is
pure noise,and cap cards don't like this,and this
WILL cause flicker ans stutter.....

I'm capturing NTSC tapes in 720 x 480.

The strange thing is that OEM drivers work fine, however as I mentioed earlies I don't want to use them since they don't capture full D1, instead they capture lower res and then resize to full 720 x 480 internally, which is bad IMO. BtWinCAp drivers are the only ones that can do full D1 (NTSC and PAL)

I did some more testing today and this is what I discovered:

I have a VCR that can play and output both NTSC and PAL, so I played the same NTSC tape and set the output to PAL and as I was capturing it there was no problem at all. So basically I think I have located the problem. It has something to do with the way the drivers handle NTSC signal, I have also found a post in this forum, where somebody mentioned that the BtWinCap drivers are buggy for NTSC capture.
