When file
EncodingProgress.Pass1 or
EncodingProgress.Pass2 in Chunks folder is missing then you lose whole progress. That file is being updated every time chunk gets encoded. For your unstable PC I guess I would have to implement some backup system...
Regarding crashing ffmpeg.exe. I've just checked the code in EncodingServer.exe and crash window will always be automatically closed regardless of switches used. It would be much easier if you just manually executed
/Chunks/1.cmd from shared folder and then expand details. Look for
FAULTY MODULE: line
