PVAstromento doesn't change the DAR/SAR/PAR it simply changes the container by remuxing the streams in a different format.
It is possible that you recorded a multiDAR/SAR broadcast (usual eg film in 169, commercials in 43) and that tricked the software used to cut out the latter.
