Well the easiest way to test is by simply outputting to 8-Bit instead yeah?
No there's no problems with outputting 12-bit with your GPU, if there was you would've seen a post about it.
If it's randomly dropping the queue down it's either an app that's interfering with it or it's your config in which case, reset, revert, restore etc.
