Mmm, it is professional-quality shot, but the director favourizes extremely kitchy details, colors and textures in a scenography, making it one hell of a mess to see.
Even if the actors are well-focused themselves, the background is still high-contrast and (too) well-lit even if not sharp, and that makes it hard to get a "desired" treatment from an encoder.
