Profile import from the web only works from versions 1025 and above. So, if you try to update everything at once, then the profile import will fail. However, profile import should work once you've updated MeGUI (I will check this, though).

Specifying output filenames/containers in various places doesn't "stick". For example, if I chood XVID, tell MeGUI to use the MP4 container, I still get an AVI for the video file.

Ummm.... in the main window in MeGUI, you *can't* select XviD and MP4.... please elaborate.
