Ok, fully awake now on this end.
I believe there are some wave reconstruction tools in Wavelab and Audition, but I've never tried them. The problem I'm seeing is that entire CDs are being so overcompressed that restoring the peaks would take forever! And then the music industry wonders why people don't want to pay $20 for a CD!
