What is with the advanced effects: scroll, wipe, fade, and stop. I am have trouble dragging the green timeline from left to right after highlighting the one of the effect icons. Thus far I've only been able to successfully put in a stop effect, It would seem that the stop effect is the only effect that will take on my subpic. Is there a problem with my subpic? Am I not doing something right here?

Also what are the Line 21 switch1, file1, switch2. and file2 functions for under the video tab in similation mode?

line 21 is for closed captions, a NTSC only phenomena as far as i know.

as for the advanced effects, i do not know why they are not working. the only limitation i know of is that they can not be present on a track with a highlight layer, eg. with buttons (and even this limitation can be overcome)
try reading the section in the scenarist manual that deals with advanced effects.

good luck

Thanks Jel,

The menu's that I was trying to place the advanced effects had a highlight layer, so I will try and figure out how to overcome this.

Thanks for your help

this thread might help:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=37074&highlight=animated+subpics

in particular, the sublooper program avaliable here:
http://www.mindtrap.co.uk/

i also have some batch files lying around the place somewhere that RB wrote for adding the fade in/fade out effect as used in the spiderman subpics.

cheers
