Hi all. I wasn't sure in which forum to ask this question, so I'm here.
I recently backed up a DVD of mine, and encoded its video and audio seperately. When played on their own, the video (in h264 MP4) is 00:57:07 in length. When the audio (in AAC MP4) is played on its own, its length is also 00:57:07. However, when I mux the two together with MP4Box 0.3.1, they start out synced but then the audio slowly loses more and more sync over the course of the video.
This was never an issue with my old -- now completely obsolete -- methods of backing up, as whatever I did fixed that problem before muxing time came around. However, now I'm completely stumped.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that the audio was ripped from a 29.97fps source and the video was decimated to 23.976fps. However, when I try to use BeSweet for a conversion, the audio sounds simply slowed down (as in deeper/lower).
Just to let you know what I did to create the audio I have: I used BeSweet 1.4 to SSRC - downsample from 48 to 44 and used the "Boost - Compress Dynamic Range" feature to Wave-Stereo. Since the AC3 files ripped by DGIndex had 0ms delay, I set the delay to 0ms. No other settings were activated. I then compressed the resulting WAV using NAACEnc at transcode quality, highq, highc. The resulting file was MP4.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert Aronson
