I have stripped the audio from a low end digital camcorder and have tried to use Besweet to perform DRC. The effect I want to be able to achieve is similar to that of using a cheap condenser mic that performs automatic volume control (you know the type that when there's silence you hear the hiss go up all of a sudden, but the volume readjusts as soon as there's any substantial audio).
I have tried -boost( /b1=10 ), -boot( /b2=10), -boost(/b3=10) to try to get an idea of the DRC capabilties. Unfortunately, the result appears to be that the audio is getting "boosted", but rather than the desired result of making the quieter parts louder and the louder parts quieter; siginificant clipping of the louder audio portions results.
I have also tried using the -l function which appears to result in overall quieter audio level, but there is still significant clipping of the loud audio parts.
I welcome any comments about the appropriateness of Besweet for what I am attempting to accomplish.
I am going to try experimenting with Azid in the next little while to what results can be achieved.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
