Always going to happen, but I'm sure Jdobbs will appreciate being notified. Thinking outside the square a little bit, it's a bit of a compliment that someone actually regards DVD-Pro as a product worth spending time on to pirate...

Software piracy is about as much a reality as the fact that the sun rises in the east. While I feel nothing if lets say Windows Longhorn beta source code gets leaked on the Internet, *this* sure is saddening. Also considering the fact that jdobbs is not running a megabucks software company to run after these people, guess he/we have to live with this.
Forget DVD-RB, even total freewares like Irfanview gets cracked and distributed. Why? Only because in the "registered" version you can have your name in the 'About' box (no change in functionalities), that's it! Howzzat?

hmm
isn't the "registered owner's" name embedded somewhere in the .exe? ... somebody could be more than a little embarrassed in the near future (and SOL on the next release !!)

Not sure about that^^, but it's not that hard to remove it. If they have decompiled the code to figure out how to crack it, what is the big deal in searching and replacing the character string which is the name of the registered user with a fake name?
