hi to all

i've been using dvd-rb for a while now and recently donated for the pro. i've been using the same method also for a while, which is dvd-rb + cce 2.5 (or 2.70 depending on weather i'm using my athlon or my p4) and the steps are:
-numenu4u
-vobblanker (opcional and only before getting the pro)
-prepare
-rb-optv
-encode
-rebuild
-dvdshrink to make an iso
-mount iso in daemon tools and test with powerdvd

everything is flawless until now, that i'm facing a problem with "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Vol.1"

when backing up this season disc, the menu links don't work when i test the iso. the strange thing is that powerdvd works correctly if directly from the output of rebuilder. i thought it might have been an iso creation problem, but after a couple of tests i found out that it must be an authoring problem, because wen trying to create iso via clonedvd, it fails and reports and error on navigation. i also tryed fixing the vobs/ifos with ifoedit but no luck.

i know it might have sounded confusing, but any ideas on the problem?
thanks in advance.

your gonna have to strip things down.. meaning.. just run dvdrb on the source w/out numenu etc and see if things are ok.. if it seems to be numenu im sure zeul will have a look. it could also be one of the other tools you are using

i've not tried without numenu yet, but i also tried to create an image right after numenu gives me an output and it works ok. after rebuilder i create an image and menu links don't work. but i'll try it without compressing the menu

If you suspect the DVD pointer structure, in the vob and/or ifos, has been altered due to someone of the numerous processing steps performed, you may want to add another step... :) giving a try to the mock strip (a "famous" ifoedit procedure...):

i tested using dvd-rb directly in the source (open from decrypted image) and only blanking unwanted titles via preview/edit feature, then encode and rebuild, next image creation. now menu links work good, but somehow root menu is seen as the extras menus, meaning the first menu to popup after firing powerdvd is the extras menu and not the real main menu.

i did a mock strip already after the rebuilder process, but now i'm gonna try to do a mock strip before rebuilder (after numenu). i'm starting to suspect of the original dvd.

well... after 12 encodes with various steps, mock strip, vobblanker, ifoedit and all the stuff i know and could remember, i must say that either the original is badly authored (i don't think so, because dvdshrink and clonedvd can handle this one correctly) or it's definitly a bug in dvd-rb 1.0 rc5.1

the last test was simply work from the files. no messing around. full copy, standard compression. nothing else. one-click-mode. and after that my menus are screwed. the extras menu is seen by powerdvd as the root menu. strange is when i vobblank the titles, root menu is correctly seen, but then links don't work (when i click a chapter or play it just loads the menu again)

i did not re-encoded the menus.

jdobbs - help!

thanks in advance
