Hi,
i'm looking for a way to replace an existing DVD audio track (AC3 DD 2.0 R1) by the same from my R2 DVD (AC3 DD 5.1).
is it possible to do that using "quite simple" tools (i'm not experienced in DVD authoring) ?
just one precision : the R1 DVD is in NTSC format, and my R2 DVD is in PAL.
i think it would add difficulties, no ?
(i wanted to notice this point)
Thanks a lot in advance.

In theory, if everything about the videos was the same, you could swap NTSC & PAL audio without sync prob.. MHO however is that you very well might have some minor glitches, especially if different releases.
To do the actual replacing, search all the threads and you'll find several methods. Using VOBlanker is one way I've seen posted. You might also want to check out simply adding the 2nd as a switchable audio track.

The guide of Malcolm:

is the proper way to to the job you have in mind...
1. Triple check the two tracks are perfectly synchronous...
2. Further attention in your case should be paid to potential exceeding of the max bitrate in the DVD: both in case you want to replace your 2 channels audio track with the 5.1 and if you add the last as an additional track, you are adding some more or less relevant data rate to the set of your a/v streams. So take care not to pass the "famous" 10.08 Mbps limit during the remux phase (if you use Muxman, as described in the guide, it logs the maximum bitrate in C:Muxman.log).
