I have been using Verbatim's DVD+R DL media and so far, out of about 100 discs used, I have yet to create a coaster. However, that being said, the Verbatims are selling for about $4.50 each, while the Memorex brand sells for under $3.00 each. I am willing to switch to the Memorex brand to save some money, but only if someone can confirm the quality of the memorex discs are as good as the Verbatim. Has anyone burned any Memorex DVD+R DL discs lately? Can you please tell us how well your backups have turned out with this brand? Thanks for sharing the info.

Here (http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?selectmedia=2869#comments) you can find some mixed results from Memocrap, oops, Memorex DL ;)

Thanks for the link. I now know to completely stay away from Memorex, and always stick to the Verbatims.

@Carlos Garcia
Since you are consuming a fair amount of D/L media, with such a substantial price difference, it's probably worth your while to buy 2 or 3 of the less expensive media and simply see if they burn properly for you - That's really all that counts...

See here (http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm) for a good article on what A380 is talking about.

I've had MKM coasters and Ritek coasters. My oppinion is a £2.50 coaster is cheaper than a £4.50 one

BenQ phone support does not provide Verbatim as a recommended DVD R+ DL for my 162I external burner (16X).
They have only tested out Sony, Imation,TDK and Maxell on their units and as well their BenQ's media and I have only used the regular DVD R+ 4.7 gigs.
Has anyone used any of these DL's as I want to try a pack out and don't know much about the DL's and their coatings etc.
I am a Noob to analog to digital conversion and would like to know about member's experiences with these brands.
Thankyou
