Is there a good/clever way to remove a frame from an .AVI? The reason for this is that I've copied a few of my dvd-recordings to my computer and converted them to AVI. However my dvd-recorder obviously have problems recording from old VHS-tapes and some frames gets "corrupt" (contains some garbage). So I wish to remove these even if the final AVI file may be "jerky" at those points that frames has been removed.

If you still need to encode the file, just go the frames in question and press del. If you already encoded your file, it will get a lot trickier since you can't just remove a frame from any random point. There's not really a good way to deal with that, but re-encoding it again.

It's probably best to use the "Mask Bad Frames" function of VirtualDubMOD (and, I believe, standard VirtualDub), rather than deleting the frames...

VirtualDub only masks bad frames if it cant decode them, I'm not sure if that is what is going on here.

Personal practices and all, for this sort of work I'd recomend trying an NLE where the video and audio are displayed on tracks, though it is possible in V/Dub.
If/when you have 3 prob. frames or fewer, can copy before and after frames, and a blend of both in the middle. If prob. extend over more then 3 frames, personally delete that view or scene (usually only 10 sec at most), blending audio if needed.
