Extracting overlay from original menu?

I'm currently ripping a series that has 3 eps on one a DVD with a menu that jumps to the chapter selection when selecting an episode instead of playing the episode right away. Now I could use PgcEdit to rewrite all the commands but I'm lazy especially as the DVD seems to be authored in a crude way with lots of jumps between PGCs and stuff.

So instead I'd like to use the episode selection menu as basis for my own menu and import it to my ripped DVD with PgcEdit. Is there any chance on extracting the original overlay (the one that highlights the buttons when I select an ep) so I can reuse it? I can extract the ep selection menu's background easily, if I could do the same with the overlay I could slap the new menu together in no time. TIA.

Aren't these the bitmaps in the subpics of the menu PGCs? You could probably rip them as BMPs with subrip.

Still, sounds like more work than just reprogramming the top menu commands.
