I'm new to AutoGK. I've read the manuals and I am able to encode movies/TV shows with out problems. However I do have a few questions.
I have been using TV shows as my learning tool, since they are small. I am encoding using DivX 6 since I know my home DVD player is ok with it. My question is this: When I encode something with AutoGK they come out with 12 bit Video Sample Rate. Things I have downloaded have 24 bit Video Sample Rate. What is the difference/advantage to a 24 bit Video Sample Rate? And for that matter, how do I even change/select this option?
Next question. The TV show I’m working with is a 30 minute cartoon episode and have been compressing it to a ¼ CD size. The quality that comes out with my file product isn’t bad, but doesn’t look as good as some of the others that I’ve seen (again, things I have downloaded). I know you can adjust the settings for DivX (per here: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/gknot-main3.htm). I have left all the AutoGK and DivX settings as default. Should I be adjusting some settings in AutoGK or DivX to help produce better quality output?
Thanks in advance,
