I recently got this message ("Embedded null records found") in the prepare phase twice when rebuilding Old School. Never seen it before and cant find much help through searching the forums. Can anyone explain what this means, and more improtantly, is this a problem?

Sounds like a pre-processed source. Have you tried it on the original?

By 'trying on the original' do you mean on the unedited disk?

Yes. I backed-up the R1 version of that with no problems.

No. I have not tried the unedited disk as of yet. I really want a few of the documentaries from disk 2 so I would rather keep them if I can (considering the time it took to figure out how to splice 2 DVDs like that :) ).
If my HC encode fails I will try it just for the sake of learning, but do you happen to know what this error really means, and will it cause any problems with the DVD or is it just a message along with the likes of 'ILVU detected' (or whateber DVD-RB's wording is)? :)

Disk 2 of Old School? Splicing 2 DVD's? Are you possibly getting confused as to which pre-processed disc this thread is about?
BTW, what did you rip with, Decrypter?

That's in the other thread. This one is about "Embedded null records found", remember? That is usually dummy data that DVD Decrypter inserts during ripping to emulate the bad sectors protection on discs.

Embedded null records are sectors that are completely filled with zeros. This message is just to let you know they are there.... it could mean something when your source has been preprocessed. DVD Decrypter can sometimes create these (when it bypasses a bad sector for instance).

OK. Thats all I needed to know. As long as it wont create a problem with the final burn. I appologize again for the stupid posts. I was a but drunk the other night and was a bit lost in my own thoughts. :stupid:
