View Full Version : IVTC-ing hybrid: graceful 29.9->23.976 fallback

I'm currently encoding a documentary which is mainly shot on 16mm; so, by using decomb, I'm quite happy IVTC-ing it.

But the show contain a number of "video" scenes; unfortunately, many of them feature prolonged camera pans, so discarding frames lead to jerkiness which nobody could stand.

Is there any way to do an automatic frameblending on video parts, so smoothess will return even on 23.976 fps?

("variable frame rate" is not an option, unfortunately, by a number of reasons.)

How about using Decimate's mode 3?

It says right in the docs that it's for hybrid material...
