hi,i would like to backup my dvds with dts 5.1.im always getting ac3 5.1.i tried using shrink to sellect the dts,but end up with no sound.do i need a codec or something????help please thanks

If you play it back on your computer, you need a DTS decoder(Media Player Classic comes with one and so do most Creative sound cards). If you play it back on a stand-alone, it must have a DTS decoder built in.

i did a test with dvd shrink,with dts only.played it with Media Player Classic.no sound.burnt to a disk and played it on my dvd player.worked fine.not sure why Media Player Classic wont play dts.

You probably have "Remove DTS" selected in the SETUP screen.

Odd that he said "DVD player worked fine," eh? Based on his followup I mean (which implied he indeed had it checkmarked). Maybe it included AC3 or he misspoke...

every thing is working fine.my media player wouldnt play dts.change my media player to windvd,all is good :D

Ah, thought either I or he missed something there. It's what I get for having one of those sleepless nights...
