I got a Lite-On 1693S and i can burn at 8.0x speed ...

but ... when i burn a dvd it goes max to about 60-70 % and then the buffer "dies" and the com starts to load ..and the speed drops to 1.0x but after some min its gets back to 8.0x

As an end result, do you have a good burn?

Yup, i do ...It has never failed me so far :P iahve burned 30 dvdrs until now :D without any problems
