I splitted up a DVD in two discs with DVD-REMAKE_PRO.

The splitted discs are having touble after DVD-REMAKE-PRO playing back DTS sound. The player unterrupts sound now and than, and even locks itselfs up so I have to turn it off/on again by using mains-switch !

Dolby 5.1 runs perfectly. But I have already had more problems with DTS, it's seems more difficult to play back for some reason.

So I decided there was someting wrong with te splitted disc and try them to run throught DVD-RB-PRO 5.1 without compression !

The PREPARE stage went fine.
The encoder stage did nothing as expected.
And running the REBUILD stage did give the error:

0006: DVD-RB has found framecount differences between PREPARE and REBUILD phases. Aborting.

And then it stops.

I really don't know what's wrong here. Maybe DVD-REMAKE-PRO messed something up.

POWER-DVD plays the splitted DVD just fine.

But POWER-DVD is not so critical as REAL PLAYERS.

Extra note: I even tried the original DVD as extracted bij DVD-DERYPTER.
This not preprocessed disc in full gives the same error at the same moment as the proprcessed splitted discs !
(First cell rebuilding aborts on 40% or so)

Anybody on this ?

Are you doing "Movie and Menus Only"? There is a known error that has been fixed for the next version that only happens in that mode.

That error happens when the FLG file (one byte for each frame) hits its end during encoding. It means there appears to be more frames during rebuild.

Another problem that can cause this is a bad cut. If someone cut on an I Frame that is part of an open GOP, the temporal offset can point to a frame that has been removed.

It's there even in original DVD !!!!

So what can I do ?

How to correct this ?

thx,

Toine

I do FULL DVD, without compression......

Now I do FULL backup, with CCE compression (resulting in decompression cause of smaller DVD-5 size) and the problemwas gone !!!!

So DVD-RB correct it, if you do a CCE compression (even if in fact this results in a 112% compression ratio) !

Don't get this...

it seems you you are having an issue with dvd remake... (DVD RB's job is not to fix bad sources although its pretty cool that it did when you compressed)... dvd remake questions should be in the ifo editor forum.

I already stated it was taken place with the original DVD also, directly after ripping.

Had already almost edited that post.

But I wondered that te original also caused the error, so I was seeing it in the DVD-RB way. Even without preprocessing it went wrong.

Probably bad authirized DVD.

It's just very nice to know that DVD-RB is able to 'rebuild' the DVD from almost scratch so the error is gone. Only you have to do a real encoding step.
And a liitle loss of quality could be the result. But this should be too less to notice anyway.

ahh.. yes i see that on the bottom now.. 95% of your post is about dvdremake and 5% is about dvdrb.. ok.. i stand corrected.. carry on...
