View Full Version : Problem converting MPEG to AVI with Vdubmod

Hi,
I have a couple of MPEG video files that I wish to convert to AVI(xvid). However, upon opening them with Vdubmod, I get a couple of warnings that say "MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at byte position X, from X to X. This may indicate an improper join."
Ignoring these and performing a 2 pass xvid encode gave me errors, and when I double click on the errors it says "Error decoding MPEG audio frame x (x:x): incomplete frame."
Is there any way to repair these files?
Thanks!

It's an MPEG file, not an AVI file. I'm trying to re-encode it to an xvid AVI.

Try DGMPGDec.

@galapogos

Hi!

You could try the following:

1) Use TMPGEnc (Different than TMPGEnc DVD Author) to SPLIT the MPEG file at the indicated join position - and save as two separate MPEG files

TMPGEnc>>File>>MPEG Tools>>Merge&Cut

2) Then convert each to .AVI using VirtualDubMOD

3) Then use VirtualDubMOD to append the second .AVI to the first .AVI

Let us know of your success ;>}

How about MPEG tools in TMPGEnc? Rewrite file/header etc by doing demux if it'll take it, or mux with no audio & optionally demux?
