LG DVDRs with DivX and Xvid support

For the life of me I don't understand why these devices are not fitted with DVB-T tuners (or digital and analogue tuners) as standard in the UK :eek:

I bought a sibling to this player, the LDX-514, DVD/VCR combo. I don't have a TV set that I can test the HDMI output with unfortunately but it's played everything I wanted it to play.

XviD, pretty much any option except GMC.

Aspect ratio support.

I haven't hit a bitrate ceiling yet, although I mostly use H.263 so bitrates never go very high for me.

I tried the 6of9 custom matrix but it ended up not playing it as clearly as H.263 (picture looked a bit blocky).
