I recently introduced a friend to the world of dvd burning which I've been happily doing for about 6 months. We both have a Pioneer DVR-109 Re-writer.I copy & burn using DVD decrypter/DVD Shrink and Nero very successfully, but, when my friend started doing this on his pc he copied his first 3 dvd's no problem but now he cannot burn ANY dvd. DVD decrypter works fine, so does DVD Shrink but the burning failes every time. Copying of cd's works fine everytime. I recently saved the Nero burn status onto a log file and it when it starts to burn the log states '...... Queue again later'. When the burn process starts it looks like it's working but stops at 99% and says fail but I'm assuming from the log report that it never really started. here's an example of the fail notice:
16:47:34 #26 Text 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1276
16:47:34.187 - PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109\H1 T0 : Queue again later
This is listed about 30 times before the log states this:
16:55:35 #126 SCSI -1135 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1430
SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 0, LUN 0, buffer 0x03650000

HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

16:55:35 #127 CDR -1135 File Writer.cpp, Line 301
Write error
Has anyone any idea to this? What is frustrating is that it DID work on the first 3 burns but not anymore. I know he isn't buring it wrong because I have tried it on his pc. if anyone wishes to see the entire log I can email it over.
Please help, this is so frustrating.

Probably a problem with the drive or the media. Avoid cheap media. If the problem persists, consider buying another burner. I have had many troubles with Pioneer drives.

You've posted only the last part of the NERO log. If possible, post the ENTIRE log of this failed burn attempt - and make certain to delete your Registration Number from the beginning of the log...

Slates71, tell your friend to update the burner's firmware.

Here's the log, in full. I noticed that 'Queue again later' was on my log when I successfully burnt so that's not the problem. What was different was on the section beginning with 'Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories...'. On mine it was all TRUE, on my mates it's FALSE. Check it out in full below:

Although you've still not posted the entire log (Still lacking the beginning that indicates which versions of NERO and ASPI layer are being used), there is information that indicates possible sources of the problem:
"CD-ROM: <PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109 >Version: 1.40"
The latest OFFICIAL version of firmware update available for your burner at the Pioneer website is v.1.57
"Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AE1"
Some posters at several different forums have indicated quality problems with media bearing this Manufacturer's ID
"Burn process failed at 12x (16,560 KB/s)"
Try burning at 2X or 4X

I'll have a look at the upgrade. the strange thing is the first 3 dvd burns worked fine. It's the latest nero. Infact my Pioneer and nero is the same version as my mates. I'm going to uninstall the DVD driver and re-install nero to see if that works. Thanks for your help so far.....
