Audio Capture issue

I'm capturing using Virtualdub 1.6.6 through an ATI AIW 9600 card and the dang thing refuses to capture audio. I've set everything correctly, made sure to mute everything but "line-in" and get audio fine in preview, but i hit capture and only a second of audio pops in at beginning and then nothing. Is there something not set correctly? I've tried everything.

Sorry if this sounds too simple, but what are you using for audio input jacks? Audio has to pass through card (using jacks on purple cable) if using S-Vid rather then tuner.

Otherwise almost has to be sound card/hardware - drivers - settings.

S-Video & soundmax soundcard audio...the new vdub lets you choode audio input as other source. It seems to start grabbing audio fine then it just stops. Its all fine, video & audio during preview, then I hit start capture and audio goes away.

Not sure why you're not using ATI MMC app, as this will probably do whatever you're trying to accomplish in V/Dub capture with less liklihood of audio sync prob. because of delay -- watch TV on your PC & on TV at same time, and you'll notice lag.

Also, latest version of v/dub is 1.6.10 -- might want to try that...

For the L of it just did a couple of quick captures using V/Dub using ATI Tuner & S-Vid (Must Use audio connected to purple cable input jacks). Both worked just fine. If I selected anything rather then capture device for audio input in V/Dub, overlay display dissappeared, so left it at capture device, & as I said, worked fine.

Don't think this really matters for ATI capture other then to show you've got audio. RE: the mixer... Usually line-in will show you've got audio & play it, but record device also needs to be set to line in, which in this case should be connected to your AIW.

If you want to record audio with cables attached directly to your sound card, it is possible if you use another program to record audio at the same time you're capturing video, but it will not usually sync.

Hope this helps... Only other things to suggest is testing audio only recording to verify everything there works & settings are correct, & running through MMC setup to make sure correct audio input is selected.
