I don't know if it goes here or not but.I have a mkv file that uses h264 codec, and im trying to make it to mpeg2 to burn it off to dvd.But the way I do this is load it up with VDM and save as avi or just frameserve but VDM doen't want to open the video it says something about VFW codec not installed. But I install the lasted ffdshow that supports h264.This there another way to convert ???? :thanks:

Yes, open Your mkv file via avisynth (directshowsource) and You are ready to go :)
Notice, that after installing ffdshow You have to enable h264 support in it (it is disabled by default).

enable h.264 in the ffdshow VFW decoder (meaning via virtualdub -> compression -> ffdshow -> decoder) and you can open the file in virtualdub(mod)
