VirtualDub filters in NanDub?

I wanted to use Donald's logo filter in NanDub for my final encode after my 2nd pass but once I've loaded the movie the ability to select filters is no longer available. I realize this forum is for VB and VDMod but I was hoping someone may know why NanDub won't allow me to use the filters once I've loaded the movie? If this is the wrong forum please direct me to the right one and my apologizes.

Why use nandub? It's ancient and superceded by superior tools.

step 4 is after encoding, the guide advices you to encode with VirtualDub. I wouldn't use Nandub for muxing mp3 though. Try AVIMux GUI.
