NeroVision Express transcoding problem

While NeroVision is transcoding a movie (in avi format) it stops at a certain point in the movie every time I try burning it. However, with other avi formatted movies, it does work. What is the problem? Why do some work but others don't?

Could you describe what your process is, and where exactly it's messing up? Are you trying to make a DVD with a DV .avi, and it's freezing during MPEG encoding? Or are you trying to create an avi file, and your source isn't allowing Nero to do that? The more details you give, the better your chances someone can help you.

My process... well, Make DVD - DVD-video. Add video files. More - Create chapters automatically. Edit the menu template. Burn.

It messes up at a certain point in the movie every time. As soon as it gets to that scene of whatever it just stops responding. Yes, I am trying to make a DVD with an avi file. I don't know much about NeroVision except for the process I just told you. For some movies, it works fine, but for some others, it doesn't. I've burned other DVDs with avi files so I don't get why some work and others don't. Does that help any?
