seems there is a mod of the theora reference encoder available which has the cpu enhanchements (mmx...) done via the external liboil
liboil has the purpose of handling all these cpu extensions in an own library for making it easier for other programs to support enhanchements like mmx. read more about liboil here (http://www.schleef.org/liboil/)
you can find the "theora-oil" code here (http://trac.xiph.org/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/browser/branches/theora-oil)
would be great if someone could make a compile of encoderwin or ffmpeg2theora using this library with liboil :)
