hi, finally got my new sigmatek xm-400 pro today, plugged it in, great picture but no sound at all:( neither thru spdif out or analog outs..

tested on bth my amps (which both work fine with old player)

tried changing spdif options from RAW to PCM and back again, but made no difference, cannot get a single sound out of it playing back 5.1 DVD, DTS dvd, MP3, XVID, DIVX etc, sound is totally dead, any ideas before i ship it back to pixmania?
i have tried v.2A-1207.cHiEsA v.1.0Unofficial firmware, but will go back to the last official firmware before sending back...

ah huh.. fixed.....seems by default the volume is all the way to zero.. strange that even when it was zero it didnt show anything when connected via spdif to my a/v amp, normally it would display DD 5.1, DTS, PCM etc...

ah well all cool, lovelly player, apart from that silly default setting

Lol, you'd think the volume would be at the max. when out of the box. Kinda stupid of them 0_o

I must admit I'm not that keen on the idea of stand-alone players offering "adjustable" S/P-DIF output levels... especially for AC3 and DTS signals!

the level isnt adjustable on spdif outs, but if the level = zero, then there is no digital signal sent

vol at 0 = no digital out at all
vol at 1 = digital at full volume
vol at 2 = digital at full volume
vol at 3 = digital at full volume

etc etc

the volume only actually changes volume on the analogue outs (i had to plug analogue outs for SACD)

once this small problem is out of the way, it is indeed a great solid player

Does SACD works okay? Have you tried DVD-A?
