I have been in debate with some friends over this point can anyone share there views on the subject.....

If you have a new film dvd in region 1 and the same dvd in region 2 WHEN watched on a uk tv with progesssive scan will the region 2 dvd give a better picture ??

My thoughts on this are YES as the disc will be encoded to operate on a uk tv which as we all know runs more lines on screen than a USA tv or are the discs encoded to the same level and its just the tv which adjusts the picture you see...

In short if I buy the USA version of Sin City will the picture be as good as the UK version ???

if both version are done equally well it comes down to:
lower ntsc resolution
vs.
pal speed-up
which is worse to you is a matter of taste
