Warning: DVD Decrypter 3.5.3.0+ hides Unreferenced Material

Some of my notes from past DVD Decrypter rips were hinting at this. What I was finding is that I could no longer see Unreferenced Material (via DVD Shrink) on some DVDs that I was re-ripping.

It appears that the ArcCos defeating logic that LightningUK! wrote into DVD Decrypter 3.5.3.0+ removes the VobID reference in the *_C_ADT tables for Unreferenced Material in DVDs.

I verified this with Undertow R1 and Friday Night Lights R1. I don't think either are ArcCos protected.

I guess there's both good and bad (depending on how you look at it) with this change in the software's behavior. From my point of view:

Good: If you're a big DVD Shrink v3.2 user, you won't even see this material in the DVD's structure (i.e., nothing in the Unreferenced Material section), and Shrink will clean it out of the VOB files when he rewrites them.

Bad: If you like to use DVD Shrink v3.2 to get an overview of a DVD's structure (for re-authoring, like in DVD-RB, etc.), you may not realize that the Unreferenced Material exists unless you compare what Shrink reports versus the actual physical size of the VOB files.

I use DVD Shrink both ways, but I've goofed some re-authors lately because I didn't realize the Unreferenced Material was there.

In DVD Decrypter do you have the "Ignore Unreferenced VTS Sets" in the "File Mode" tab of the settings ticked ?
From memory this is the default upon installation - I always change it.

I see that. I always rip to ISO/MDS, and I don't have that option.

I'm guessing this leaves the references as-is when ripping in File mode?

I've seen this many times when arcoss protection is on the disc. i copy (anydvd) the file to hdd and make then directly iso. Anydvd tells that if the disc is arcoss protected or not... So i normally strip the arcoss garbage with ifoedit (vobid) but i have here a disc that i can only see VOBID1 en there are 2 VOBID's. I want to get rid of the First and ifoedit shows the first only when using VOB extras/strip VOBID, so i can't strip the first one... Where is VOBID2 specified, so that i can add or fix this manually of with...????
