hauppauge wintv express bt878, HALF RESOLUTION CAPTURED

now, i got another tv-card: hauppauge wintv express bt878.

installed the btwdmdrvinstaller5.3.8.zip capture drivers. using vdub 1.6.9 i get the conexants btpci capture device (directshow) shown in list of device.

set video to yuy2, 720*576, 25 framerate. what i get captured is 720*288 ! so i get only HALF RESOLUTION. why is this happening ? the card is not that old, the hauppauge cards cant be ALL that bad.

any ideas ?

Checking out the Hauppauge site, the FAQ for all WinTV bt878 cards lists the top capture size at 320 x 240 using their bundled software. I'm hoping someone could point you to a current app (frame grabber?) that would allow full frame capture.

people use vdub with the btwincap devices. i read often they get full pal this way.

Download and install the latest WDM drivers for the TV card, then download and install the latest VirtualDub (v1.6.10 at the moment). It supports DirectShow capturing which means that WDM drivers will work at full resolution.

You must uninstall the BTWinCap drivers before installing Hauppauge's ones, otherwise you might get problems.
