Skip straight to the Menu of the DVD

Ok well my cousins are coming and their all small, and i have many disney dvds. I want to back them up.

Im not new to backing up, i either would use CCE w/ dvd rebuilder or DvdShrink with dvdremake pro.

After ripping the dvd to HD using dvd decrypter, i loaded up the file in dvdshrink. I made all extras still images and i kep menu/video untouched. I also removed DTS, DD 2.0 and DD 5.1 French as well as the extra subs.

After about 10 mins the dvd was ready. I tried fiiring it up in dvdremake i get some VMG error

can't load VMG.

So im wondering how would i remove the parts i set as still images so that i dont have to wait 18 seconds for the vob to end, and me watching 18 seconds of a jpeg which says this has been removed.

I think i managed to get it done with vob blanker, ill post back with results

ok i managed to skip to main movie now my final question. How do i make certain menu keys not function or just remove them such as extras n under setup the "french audio etc"

:confused: What is the point of doing this in Shrink if you intend to run the disk through DvdReMake? All these can be done in DvdReMake (as well as hiding buttons).

I can't comment on DVDRemake -- may be the easiest route if you get an answer to avoiding the error.

Removing button functions I think I'd try PGCEdit either before or after DVD Shrink -- I have had it make a difference, where wasn't successful one way but the other worked. You can also try MenuEdit.

And you might consider a simple reauthor since it's for kids (whom I assume you don't want playing with your originals). It could be simple, using the Shrink re-author mode, or slightly more involved in something like DVDLab, where you could use snapshots of the original for menus, import mpg2 & ac3 (from orig. or after Shrink), and it's downhill from there.

thing is if i re authoer in shrink it takes away menu compatability, all i want to do is have a view of the vob i want to blank so i can blank it out hence i can save space, and so when i fire it up in Dvdshrink it would leave more room for the actuale movie and hence a better quality flick.

I keep getting VGM ifo errors.

But you don't want to do without menus entirely, per your last post.

There are a few ways if you want to disable buttons, & in my opinion the easiest would be MenuEdit, but that's just personal preference, so you might want to look at the guides, including those for PgcEdit.

Take care: MenuEdit is not free. The free version is able to edit the first button group ONLY. If the aspect ratio of your menu is 4:3, it doesn't matter, since you will have only one group, but, in 16:9, you must edit at least 2 groups.
