Ok, I have been trying to encode Gunslinger Girl (anime), and I guess I have done it right but I don't know. I am tired of trying to do that show yet i can't stop now because I told myself not to watch eps 3-5 till i got it encoded, that way i don't watch em all in one night or so, cause if i watch one i'll watch the rest. This seems to be the easy way out but I just don't care anymore. Other anime i can sorta do but this is just too dark i guess. I had this noisy ass Dragonball Z episode, and I encoded that good, but this i can not. I feel like a failure, but I feel no worse than tigerstyle, hehe. If someone is up to it, who can do it good, be willing to do a chapter for me and show me it and the script they used and tell me where to get the filters.? I can upload via ftp or whatever in the hell ya'll want. Gunslinger Girl has now official rubbed me the wrong way... and let's just say I am getting a rash boys and girls. I am sure someone wants too, seems doughtful, but hell, I was encoding cause I was bored so, hey.

Animeultima, I haven't done enough animes to be of much immediate use. Maybe a little sample, screenshots, posting your various scripts, the codec used with settings, the output size etc, and as Wilbert pointed out, a descriptive thread name, will attract knowledgeable users. In its present state, your post is just a rant ;)

gunslinger girl? that wasn't a difficult one i don't think.

try burst angel - the field order reverses randomly all through disc 1 (the US one). the tape it came on is alright AFAIK, so somebody screwed up the encode for the US disc in a weird way. or maybe they had a different source?

and then there's scrapped princess - the worst dot-crawls i've ever seen. at least FMP fumoffu's crawls could be killed with dedot...

i'm sick of bad looking anime, goddamn it. how is it that in this day and age new stuff even gets turned into analog before it goes to get dubbed? they make these shows digitally, so you'd think they could spare a simple decklink card and output it to something digital, instead of going composite and fekking up all the colours and putting rainbows all over everything. grrr.

If someone wants to see how good they can do it just get the vob and the ac3 audio here. ftp://70.246.139.29/ just show me an avi or some pics and I'll be able to tell if you did any better, cause everytime i fail at the encoding I change my script around and so i have no definite script for it. just show me how good you did. Don't post the script if you don't wanna, I just wanna see.
