Servus,

I'm trying to get familiar with the Big3 Tools instead of still doing everything by hand, but I run into some problems and need some help please.

1)
I get a warning while importing in Scenarist and can see that my videofiles are 2 frames short.
Warning The duration of MPEG video file "D:\kr3\20050730_115303\VTS01\VTS__01_P01.I-TFF.4~3_1.mpv" has changed.
Info Validateing Video (VTS02_1)
Warning The duration of MPEG video file "D:\kr3\20050730_115303\VTS02\VTS__02_P01.I-TFF.4~3_1.mpv" has changed.
Info Validateing Video (VTS03_1)
Warning The duration of MPEG video file "D:\kr3\20050730_115303\VTS03\VTS__03_P01.I-TFF.4~3_1.mpv" has changed.
Info Validateing Video (VTS04_1)
Warning The duration of MPEG video file "D:\kr3\20050730_115303\VTS04\VTS__04_P01.I-TFF.4~3_1.mpv" has changed.
Info Finish Importing

I noticed that DIF4U uses the old 1.76 dvdavi version. From what I remember this version has problems with PAL-Material and "loses" some frames if the first GOP doesn't start with an I-Frame.

Is it prossible to use the newer DGIndex with DIF4U?

2)

Following the new Big3 guide until step 3. Encoding.
When everything goes according to plan, BCCE should be automatically started (and launched, depending on your ScenAid settings)
I'm pretty sure I configured everything as mentioned in the guide.
When I start Scenaid to create a Script for Scenarist, Scenarist will be opened and imports all necessery data and nothing ever happens. BCCE won't start and if start it manually it has no jobs in it's job list. I have to open the job file manually.
(BTW: I wonder why this Scenarist project uses the original demuxed *.m2v files...)

3)
Where can I change the intraDC precision CCE uses when startet by BCCE. A precision of 10 for some of the bitrate ranges is a bit overkill.

Thanks for any help. :)

Hi,

could you please start by giving us the details on the programs you're using. (versions).

1) this could be a result of some older software versions you're using.
DGindex can be used in the upcoming (vip version) 1.4.8 of Dif4u

2) Make sure you haven't selected the option use original assets (which will skip encoding)

3) Can't recall that by heart (if possible at all), but at least try to use the latest opensource batchcce.

1. New versions of dif4u will support dgindex.. for now.. there is an option in scenaid to recreate the .d2v files. i highly recommend this for movies with angles. it can be less imperitave for most pgc demux since its the frames being lost are usually at the end of a stream and are black frames. however you can have scenaid create them in all cases

3. eek.. i thought there was an option for dc prec. i get stuff i put in batchencode confused with batchcce. anyways i'll add it to the next version.

Another thing regarding question 2, you need to make sure you have "Open Encoder Automatically" checked from Options->Encoder Options. If this isn't checked, it will launch Scenarist without the encoded files. (I just tried this)

Also, if you cancel Scenarist (while it's importing assets from ScenAid), you will need to open the task manager and manually "end task" for Project1 (applications tab). This will shut down the automate_scenarist.exe program as it will keep running.

Whoops... good point ;)

DIF4U 1.4.0 (public)
BCCEWS 0.9.1.6
Scenaid 1.7.0.4 (public)
Scenarist 2.6
(Already got 3.01 but that version is so damn buggy, therefore we switched back to our old version. After hours on the phone with Sonic's so called "support" I'm really pissed off with this version , but thats a different story...)

Shame on me... :D :thanks:

That would be fine. :)
