I'm desperate, so please help me! For the record, this post isn't about premiere, its about fixing video files that premiere has screwed up.

I'm making a video using video game footage captured using fraps. I'm editing using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. Two times now I've had premiere corrupt my source files. The problem occurs when I manually change the length of titles (text overlaid over the video) on the timeline. In the section overlaid by the title, the video will pause and skip. It basically becomes a slide show every 30 frames or so, showing a frame, freezing, and then skipping ahead. This change is made to the source file, which is extremely frustrating, since premiere isn't supposed to alter source files.

Is there any possible way to fix this? Any ideas? Now of course, if the frames have actually been over written, then there isn't. But maybe its just a timing thing??? Something in the files header???? I don't know enough about video files, or video file repair. Please, if anyone can help me... these files can't be replaced (I didn't think I'd need to back them up since premiere isn't supposed to alter them), and are extremely valuable to me. I really appreciate any help.

What happens if you open the video in VirtualDub orVirtualDubMod an d step through it frame by frame?
